Demetrius Fields wraps up stellar career at Northwestern Univ. with Gator Bowl Championship.



Congrats to TSYSG FAM member Demetrius Fields for finishing up a stella career at Northwestern University with a TAXSLAYER.com GATOR BOWL Championship. The South Oak Cliff High School Grad was a big play reciever for the Wildcats with 36 straight starts. A Great Player.....and YES, a even Greater Young Man and Role Model.

Caught eight passes at Syracuse for a career-best 83 yards, including a 9-yard game-winning touchdown reception with 44 seconds remaining ... Named NU's co-offensive big playmaker in the win over SU ... Two catches for four yards vs. Vanderbilt ... Set a career high with nine catches against Boston College, totaling a team-best 77 yards ... Caught two balls for 14 yards against South Dakota ... Three catches for 21 yards at Penn State ... Totaled two receptions for 27 yards in season-opening win at Boston College ... Shared team's offensive big playmaker of the game vs. Boston College, largely for his outstanding downfield blocking ... Led NU with three catches for 41 yards vs. Eastern Illinois ... Two receptions for 9 yards at Army ... One catch for 5 yards at Illinois ... Registered three receptions for 40 yards, which included a season-long 26-yard grab, at Iowa ... Helped lead the Golden Bears to a 9-4 record in 2007, which included a perfect 5-0 league record in District 14-4A ... Played wide receiver and free safety for SOC ... Team captain ... In the team's final game vs. Hillcrest, the third round of the 4A playoffs, recorded two interceptions and a fumble recovery ... Totaled 17 receptions for 350 yards and three TD's as a senior ... SOC was a regional semifinalist in 2007 ... Missed part of his senior season with an injury ... Ranked 81st-best safety nationally by ESPN/Scouts, Inc. ...
